Our Firm, led by the Managing Partner, Nazmi Zaini and supported by our Legal Associate, Zahid Zulkifli advised TNB Labs Sdn. Bhd. (“TNBL”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad in connection with its collaboration with a Malaysian specialty chemicals manufacturer for the development, testing, production and commercialisation of ester-based biodegradable transformer oil.
The collaboration was formalised through the execution of a Collaboration Agreement establishing a framework for the joint development and commercial rollout of sustainable transformer oil solutions across selected international markets.
Our roles included drafting, reviewing and negotiating the transaction documents as well as providing legal and strategic advice on key aspects of the collaboration. We also assisted TNBL and its Group Legal in stakeholder engagements leading up to the execution of the agreement.
This matter highlights our Firm’s experience in structuring and advising on complex commercial collaborations involving technology development, manufacturing and cross-border commercialisation within the energy and chemicals sectors.
