Brandon graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Hons.) from the University of London in 2013 and obtained his Certificate in Legal Practice in 2015. Upon his graduation, he completed his pupillage at Zulrafique & Partners, a prominent Tier 1 law firm in Kuala Lumpur and was attached to both the Litigation and Corporate Finance departments.

He began his post-qualifying legal practice by working in close collaboration with a senior practitioner at Christie Soosay Nathan & Associates in all areas of civil litigation. Brandon subsequently joined TS Liew, Nurzila & Co as an Associate and was later promoted to Senior Associate in the Litigation department. Throughout his time at the firm, he has advised clients and handled a varied array of civil litigation matters across all tiers of the court system, including corporate commercial disputes, private disputes, debt recovery, construction disputes, and committal proceedings.

Brandon’s portfolio includes a wide range of civil litigation matters, including contractual and tortious disputes, employment and industrial relations, probate and administration, as well as family and matrimonial disputes. He also has extensive experience in debt recovery and enforcement matters.

  • Acted for a sub-contractor in an adjudication proceeding where the sub-contractor claimed the sum of about RM3 million against the main contractor
  • Acted for a sub-contractor in claiming for direct payment against the principal of a construction project
  • Acted for a well-known local distributor and retailer of leather goods and travel gears in defending a claim for breach of contract by a company licensed to maintain and operate one of the airports in Malaysia
  • Acted for a well-known Malaysian F&B restaurant in defending a director’s claim of conspiracy
  • Acted for a local group of companies specialising in oil palm plantation and palm oil manufacturing in defending a claim of breach of contract for alleged acquisition of lands
  • Acted for a local company in defending a claim by the largest electricity utility company in Malaysia
  • Acted for a well-known amusement park operator in Malaysia in defending unfair dismissal claims by aggrieved employees
  • Acted for aggrieved employees against the employer company who operates a high-end fine dining restaurant in Malaysia for unpaid salaries
