Nazmi Zaini graduated with Bachelor of Laws from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Master of Commercial Laws from University of Malaya. Nazmi was admitted to the Malaysian Bar since 2017.
Having completed his pupillage at Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners, Nazmi was an Associate with TS Liew, Nurzila & Co. and Yusfarizal, Aziz & Zaid wherein he was entrusted to lead and establish corporate commercial department. Throughout his practice, he was focusing on Financial Services, Renewable Energy, Projects and Infrastructure. In 2020, Nazmi founded Nazmi Zaini Chambers to deliver bespoke legal and practical solutions to small and medium enterprises, public listed corporations and high net worth individuals.
Licensed to practice as corporate secretary, Nazmi has strong experience in Mergers and Acquisitions having advised clients in cross border acquisitions and take overs, particularly from Labuan, Hong Kong and Malta jurisdictions and related to digital assets. Aside, Nazmi has experience in assets and businesses’ acquisitions in several industries such as hospitalities and tourism, healthcare and real estate. Nazmi was shortlisted as Dealmaker of the Year by ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2021 and was the Honorary Secretary for Malaysia Esports and Gaming Association.

- Advised and represented a Labuan incorporated company on the acquisition of 500,000 ordinary shares worth USD 130 million in a Hong Kong corporation licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission to undertake derivatives trading activities (Type 1, Type 2 and Type 4)
- Advised and represented Golden Innovations PLC, an investment holding company based in Malta on its acquisition of the entire equity interest of a Malaysian incorporated company licensed by the Bank Negara Malaysia to offer electronic money services and payment gateway system to the general public with the total consideration of RM 25 million
- Advised and represented the EPCC and O&M contractors in preparing the legal framework for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a 9.99MW Large Scale Solar Floating System in Manjung, Perak with the total project value of RM 55 million
- Advised and represented the technical consultants and subcontractors for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of a 30MW Large Scale Solar at Bukit Selambau, Kedah with total consideration of RM 139 million
- Represented a client on the installation, maintenance and development of free WiFi and broadband facility for the State of Sabah with a total contract value of RM 239 million
- Advised a Labuan company for its application for Money Broking and Credit Token Business licenses from the Labuan Financial Services Authority to offer capital markets products and services
