NZC was honoured to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Enrique of Malacca Shipyard project in Klebang on 21 April. The Firm was represented by our Managing Partner, Nazmi Zaini, at the event, which was officiated by the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
The project marks a strategic collaboration between SM-WEZ Corporation, Henry The Black Shipyard Sdn Bhd, and Türkiye’s Desan Shipyard, a company with over 47 years of experience in the global maritime industry (https://lnkd.in/gsZd-Mpa).
This development forms part of the broader Straits of Melaka Waterfront Economic Zone (SM-WEZ), a significant initiative spanning 3,642 hectares of reclaimed land across a 33km coastal stretch, aimed at strengthening the region’s position as a key maritime and economic hub.
The development will be guided by Blue Economy principles, ensuring that economic growth is pursued in tandem with environmental sustainability.
