Our Partner and Head of Intellectual Property, Azrul Haziq Khirullah recently delivered a session at Kursus Penyelia Operasi 2026 organised by Belati Wangsa (M) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Johawaki Group of Companies.
The session, titled “Legal Procedures Involving Road Traffic Accidents and Third-Party Claims”, focused on court procedures and the duty of care owed by contractors engaged in road works and maintenance, particularly in relation to road users and utility companies.
Belati Wangsa is a reputable road maintenance concessionaire currently maintaining Malaysia’s Federal roads in the state of Perak, with responsibilities spanning routine, periodic and emergency works. The discussion addressed the practical legal risks faced by contractors operating in active road environments and the importance of compliance, documentation and risk mitigation.
